You finish things
Shipped and maintained beats started and abandoned. We will ask what broke after launch and what you did about it.
You write clearly
Most of the job is explaining a system to someone who does not have your context. Code that needs a tour guide is not finished.
You take the boring part seriously
Tests, migrations, backups, error handling. The parts nobody demos are the parts that decide whether the thing survives contact with real users.
